December 17th Info Session: Answers to Your Questions!

The Village of Grand View-On-Hudson is participating in an electricity supply contract through the Rockland Community Power program. The Rockland Community Power program is a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) electricity supply program, providing access to 50% and 100% NYS renewable electricity supply options. CCA programs can provide eligible residents and small businesses with renewable electricity supply at competitive rates, with no individual contracts for consumers. Benefits include support for renewable energy, competitive rates, and strong consumer protections.

The program can have a measurable positive environmental impact by giving each of us a way to reduce our carbon footprint.

Eligible residents and businesses in the municipality will receive a letter in mid-March with their choices and will be automatically enrolled unless they opt-out. The CCA program will relaunch in the Village in May 2025.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Grand View-On-Hudson on the 18th day of January 2022 at 7:30 P.M. via ZOOM to consider the adoption of a proposed local law entitled “A Local Law Establishing the Community Choice Aggregation Program in the Village of Grand View-On-Hudson”, which proposed local law enables the Village, among other things, to 1)obtain energy offerings on behalf of Village residents for the purposes of lowering and stabilizing energy costs and encouraging the use of renewable energy, 2) contract with energy suppliers who meet the goals of the Program and 3) contract with a CCA Administrator.   The Village’s authority to establish the CCA Program is set forth in New York Public Service Commission Case No. 14-M-0224 issued April 21, 2016 and all subsequent Orders of the PSC relating to the CCA Program.
