Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) Program
The Village of Grand View-on-Hudson is planning to join the Rockland Community Power energy program. This community choice aggregation (CCA) program would enable Grand View-on Hudson to provide residents with the benefits of renewable electricity supply at a competitive, fixed rate, with potential cost savings
Formed in partnership with Joule Community Power, a division of Joule Assets, Inc., Rockland Community Power is a community choice aggregation (CCA) program that enables participating municipalities to pool local electricity demand in order to leverage the collective buying power of their residents in an effort to secure more favorable terms on their energy supply, protect consumers, and choose renewable generation sources.
The Rockland Community Power program currently serves residents and small businesses in 4 communities, the Town of Clarkstown and the Villages of Nyack, Upper Nyack and Haverstraw, with 100% New York State renewable electricity supply at a fixed rate and 1 community, the Town of Orangetown, with standard electricity supply at a fixed rate.
The Village of Grand View-on Hudson is planning to participate in an upcoming bid for a CCA electricity supply rate with an expected program launch date in Fall 2022. This new bid will include the original 5 Rockland Community Power municipalities and the Villages of Grand View-on-Hudson, West Haverstraw, and Piermont. If Grand View-on-Hudson selects an electricity supplier, eligible residents and businesses will receive a letter in early fall 2022 with information about the program, their choices and info about how to opt-out.
Public information sessions will be scheduled over the next two months. These sessions will provide general information, explain the benefits of participation by our residents and small businesses, and answer your questions.
